This harvest festival, known for its vibrant traditions and expressions of gratitude to nature, is a time for joy, unity, and community spirit.
- Traditional Pongal Preparation: Witness the authentic cooking of sweet Pongal in earthen pots, symbolizing abundance and prosperity.
- Cultural Performances: Enjoy energetic folk dances like Karagattam and Kummi, along with traditional Tamil songs.
- Kolam Art Competition: A showcase of stunning rice flour designs created by students, highlighting creativity and skill.
- Bullock Cart Display and Rangoli Exhibition (if applicable).
- Games and Activities: Fun-filled events such as Uri Adithal (pot breaking), tug-of-war, and more!
Pongal Spirit of Gratitude
Pongal is a festival of thanksgiving to the Sun God, farmers, and cattle, marking the joy of a bountiful harvest. Through this celebration, we aim to instill pride in our cultural roots and foster a sense of community.
Dress Code: Traditional attire is encouraged—girls in pattu pavadai and boys in veshti and shirt for an authentic festive feel!
Refreshments: Traditional Pongal and other delicious Tamil treats will be served.
